POSITION SUMMARY:
To solicit freight and explore every aspect of a customer’s scope of business assigned from current and potential customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, shippers and receivers and ensure satisfaction with service provided while acting as an internal advocate in regards to service and freight acceptance. Update various EDI databases with freight information and relay load status to points of contact.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Continuously communicates with customers, brokers, shippers and receivers through email and phone calls; keeps customers informed of the status of deliveries, including updating of the customer web sites or EDI exchanges.
• Accepts, pre-accepts freight; verifies mileage, verifies rates and enters load information into McLeod.
• Works with various internal departments to find solutions to customer needs to cover freight loads, track and trace load movement, schedule appointments and service failures.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to allow for the greatest opportunities in generating freight volumes.
• Maintain customer log sheets daily, tracking contact with customer, solicitation of customers, number of loads booked, lanes quoted, trailer pools and any customer comments.
• Monitor trailer pools daily to ensure customers and carriers have available trailers for loading.
• May complete various reports pertaining to loads, service issues, detention, available freight or customer specific requests.
• Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• Ability to work on a Safer site or Safer Logistics customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be fluent in Spanish
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of one year of experience in track and trace, freight scheduling, customer service or sales experience in the transportation industry required.
• Any combination of relevant education, training or experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job will be considered. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment; ability to multitask; ability to use a personal computer and knowledge of Microsoft office software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
