We are seeking a Development Coordinator to join our team. This individual plays a key role in elevating and executing ASA’s fundraising efforts as the organization continues to seek growth opportunities. The Development Coordinator contributes their energy, passion, and skills to supporting the overall success of the Development team, especially development operations. The Coordinator has a special focus on tracking and reporting; sponsor, client, and donor customer service; research and analysis to inform potential partnerships; and supporting new and existing partners through the sales and contract cycle.
The Coordinator will gain firsthand experience in the strategies and tactics needed to increase the capacity of a growing non-profit organization. This position is critical to exploring new development prospects and in retaining solid relationships among ASA’s financial partners and supporters.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer & Chief of Staff, this is a new position with the opportunity to grow and evolve. The successful candidate seamlessly integrates with our small team and works in tandem with the Development Director to define and execute a successful development strategy.
Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy: Planning, Execution, and Tracking Results
- Assists with the creation and implementation of annual development and sales plans and prospectus that incorporate a range of strategies including contract and sponsor-related relationships and grant management.
- Tracks and reports on the deliverables and deadlines of ASA’s fundraising strategic plan.
- Coordinates ASA’s grant management process with programmatic team to develop, submit, track, and report.
- Assists with the expansion of ASA’s development efforts by researching new corporate sponsors, foundation funders, nonprofit partners, and grant opportunities.
Stewardship
- Assists in the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with current and potential sponsors, clients, and donors.
- Tracks and reports on touchpoints per fundraising timeline and deliverables.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in nonprofit development and sales, with a strong preference for experience working with a membership association (internships and fellowships included) is a must.
- Demonstrated experience and confidence in data management, organization, analysis, and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a love of orderly systems and processes.
- Excellent online research skills, and a willingness to seek out solutions and information through creative problem solving.
- Experience in customer service or donor relations preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility and a sense of humor.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to build respectful relationships with colleagues from different cultural, linguistic, educational, and other diverse backgrounds; and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
