About
After finishing my veterinary studies, I worked independently in different clinical and livestock production areas. Veterinary clinic and surgery for small and large animals, advice to livestock and horse farms and sheep breeding.
During the last 10 years I have worked in government institutions and NGOs in different areas of public health at the departmental and district level. This has allowed me to develop tools and skills to communicate with communities in different social sectors, coordination of canine rabies vaccination programs and feline at the departmental and district level, epidemiological surveillance of rabies, as well as other zoonoses and extensive experience in canine and feline population control, having participated in the performance of more than 100,000 sterilization surgeries in Cali, Valle del Cauca and its surroundings. . With the specialization in Environmental Education and Sustainable Development and the experience working in the anti-rabies immunization program, I can contribute to the strengthening of community-oriented education programs to bring vaccination programs closer to the populations, plan or create strategies for the implementation of these programs, provide technical cooperation to low- and middle-income countries to promote vaccination programs and achieve effective coverage goals. I can use the knowledge acquired in the Frontline field epidemiology course of the National Institute of Health of Colombia to complement these strategies, especially in the use of systematized tools and epidemiology programs.
With leadership in the execution of vaccination projects, I can supervise work plans aiming at the goals set with a work team; supervising and adapting the execution of work plans based on the progress and results obtained, identifying and developing an action plan that includes different regions, academic centers and organizations participating in the project. In this way, I would like to make contributions to strengthening the one health concept.
